Whitehill/Wainstalls Halifax Minster Performance 2015
On Monday the children from KS2 from both Whitehill and Wainstalls School took part in the annual Christmas Carol Concert. In all 400 children took part with 80 children in the massed Whitehill and Wainstalls choir ! A massive logistical operation. The service was really well attended and the atmosphere was fantastic.
The Minster Church of St John the Baptist, Halifax is such an amazing backdrop for a Carol Service and probably the only venue to hold the combined Whitehill and Wainstalls school communities ! The Ambassadors were amazing and led the service well. The Nativitiy at the front of the church was beautifully acted out and the massed Whitehill and Wainstalls choir was breath taking.
I would like to say a huge thank you to all parents who attended, the staff of both Whitehill and Wainstalls for being so well organised. Special thank you to Mrs Priestwood, Mrs Filby and Mr Armitage for their work with the massed Choir. As always thank you to Mr Sayles for his co-ordination behind the scenes. A great team effort !!!
Year 4 Whitehill/Wainstalls Tour De France Project 2014
We have started planning our first Trust linking project between Whitehill and Wainstalls with Year 4 children.
Children to research Tour De France in the ICT suite and produce a presentation/poster that identifies the main facts about the tour de France as well as the teams that have entered it this year. Children are to present their findings to the rest of the group.
13/06/14 – Children are design their own jersey design and then decide on a group design and a team name.
20/06/14 – Children are to recreate their jersey designs on the purple mash software and as an extension create merchandising or posters to advertise their team. Other part of the group are to put their jersey designs onto their white t-shirts using fabric pens.
27/06/14 – Children are to complete the Trust Grand Depart based at Whitehill whereby the children bring their bikes and take part in a variety of activities/races in their racing teams:
1. Parade lap.
2. Tour around Whitehill site.
3. Obstacle course.
4. Sprint race.
